One of the most artistic and vibrant districts in San Francisco, Haight-Ashbury is named after the intersection of Haight and Ashbury streets. It is located near the Golden Gate Park and attracts thousands of tourists every year. The district embodies what many feel is the "creative spirit" of San Francisco. The neighborhood was the site of a great deal of bohemian culture during the 1960s, which is still reflected in the district's string of restaurants and shops.
