There are few things as internationally loved as opera—except maybe parties. To celebrate the opening night of the 93rd season of the San Francisco Opera, the company’s Bravo! Club will be hosting the annual Opening Night Gala on September 11. The black-tie event will host a pre-performance reception at the War Memorial Opera House balcony, followed by a performance of Verdi’s Luisa Miller. An after party will be held at Jardinière restaurant with dancing, music, hors d’oeuvres and cocktails. This members-only event is one of the most popular among the city’s opera-lovers and can sell out quickly.
Those who are not yet Bravo! Club members must join before Opening Night Gala tickets may be purchased. If you’re unable to attend the evening’s event you’ll be able to see the season’s opening play through the month of September. Luisa Miller stars Leah Crocetto and Michael Fabiano with the San Francisco Opera debut of Ukrainian baritone Vitaliy Bilyy. Sung entirely in Italian, the opera tells the story of two forbidden lovers torn apart by family and social class.
Tickets to Bravo! Club’s annual Opening Night Gala may be purchased online and are priced from $195-$425, not including membership fees.
