Who wouldn’t want to stay in a former mansion overlooking the scenic Temecula wine country? This former private mansion was bought by Wilson Creek Winery to serve as their exclusive lodging in 2012. In its new life, guests are treated to the best of Temecula with vineyards and wineries surrounding Wilson Creek Manor.
Upon arrival, pull into the circular driveway and you will be greeted by someone who will show you the grounds and your room. As you step inside, the spacious living room and fireplace grab your attention, while the living room has a full bar set up and a large wrap-around sofa.
The immaculately landscaped backyard includes a swimming pool, gazebos, in-ground hot tub, a large patio area, barbecue station, and two fire pits tucked under trees surrounded by flower gardens. Imagine having your own hosted wine tasting on Wilson Creek Manor’s patio while enjoying fine wines from winery across the street.
Guests can rent out the whole house or individual rooms. The Wilson Creek Manor has 12,000 square feet of luxurious accommodations. Although the manor is often rented out for corporate retreats, wedding parties, and family gatherings, there are days when you can rent individual rooms. Let’s take a look at both options: whole house or room-by-room.
If you rent out the whole house, the entire manor is at your use and can accommodate up to 24 guests. For wedding parties, the manor’s Grand Almond suite is custom made for the bride and groom. After the wedding, the bride and groom will love this exquisite refuge, discreetly located upstairs at the end of the house. The bathroom features a Jacuzzi tub, separate shower, toilet and bidet. All of the suites feature one-of-a-kind, hand-carved entry doors, making this feel like the private mansion it once was.
You can choose to cook your own meals or have them catered for your event. If the Manor’s dining capacity of 50 guests isn’t enough, there is additional space at the Wilson Creek Winery. With this dry, sunny climate, an outdoor function is almost a guaranteed success across the street at the winery.
For onsite recreation, there’s a game room next to the kitchen with a pool table, ping pong table, foosball, card table, and a large wrap-around sofa facing a big screen TV. Outside of the recreation room is a basketball hoop on a concrete surface for addition play time. Adults and kids can engage in a spirited game of croquet on the lawn area enjoying this classic outdoor game. Multiple board games are available for kids of all ages in the play room making this the ultimate family gathering venue. If a massage is desired, the Manor has a special room suitable for one massage at a time. This room can also be converted into an extra bedroom if needed.
Both corporate retreats and other special functions at the Manor require a three-day minimum rental. For reserving individual suites, the Manor opens up the calendar sixty days in advance (once the whole house rentals have had first choice). During the peak wedding months of May and June, availability might be limited. Most suites accommodate two adults, but three suites can accommodate three to four guests. Some of the suites feature sweeping views of the area’s vineyards, plus have access to an outdoor walkway and veranda to watch colorful hot air balloons in the morning or sunsets at night.
Individual room rates include two free wine tasting tickets at Wilson Creek Winery, a bottle of wine and a lavish spread of appetizers. They also have a free wine tasting happy hour each night hosted by Wilson Creek staff. This happy hour event is not to be missed. During cool winter months, cozy up to the fireplace sipping a Wilson Creek Petite Sirah with a plate of cheese and crackers. On warm weather days, happy hour is best taken poolside under a clear blue sky. A delicious breakfast is included in your room rate with two hot items, breads, and pastries, fresh fruit, yogurt, coffee, tea, milk, and fruit juices. When you add it all up—luxury lodging, crawling distance to wineries, and a quiet location—a trip to Wilson Creek Manor feels more than special.
