It’s finally cold in Southern California (well, like low ‘60s which is pretty much freezing), so it’s safe to say that the winter season is upon us. And soon enough, Christmas and New Year’s Eve will be here. If you’re still making plans for what to do on either occasion, L'Auberge Del Mar might have answer for you.
Now that Thanksgiving is done and over with, it’s time to let someone else do the cooking—like Executive Chef Brandon Fortune at the L'Auberge’s KITCHEN 1540 restaurant. Offering a Christmas Eve and Christmas Day three-course dinner menu, the restaurant will be serving holiday favorites in a Southern-influenced, California-modern style. For $85 per adult ($125 with wine pairings) you can dine on Pumpkin Spice Soup, Goose Roulade with roasted parsnips, fingerling potatoes and gooseberry coulis, and Valencia Orange & Black Walnut Cake. Be sure to make reservations ahead of time; dinner is offered from 4 to 9 p.m. on Christmas Eve and noon to 8 p.m. on Christmas Day.
A week later, throw on your favorite Jimmy Choo’s and head back to the hotel for a stylish New Year's Eve by the sea with the À Votre Santé package. Guests who book the December 31 offer will enjoy a four-course dinner for two at KITCHEN 1540 restaurant before hitting the dance floor to beats by San Diego's DJ Gabe Vega from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Lest you imbibe a little too much, there’s no worrying about an Uber home, just head back to your guestroom and sleep away the last of 2014.
The À Votre Santé package starts at $629 based on double occupancy plus resort fee and includes a $250 dinner credit valid on New Year's Eve only.
