Dating back to 1976, The Mummers Museum has been serving Philadelphia as a place for viewing a rich collection of mummers' (folk plays) paraphernalia and memorabilia including turn-of-the-20th-century costumes. Guided tours are held daily ranging from one- to 1.5-hours and include a thirty-minute video. On Thursdays, the venue holds concerts by The Hardly Able String Band and a hot buffet lunch is served. Various workshops and programs take place during the week as well giving visitors a better understanding of the museum and its history.
