City Guides: A brand-new stadium will be the home
of Philadelphia's newest major league sports team, the Philadelphia Union, an MLS soccer club.
Located just five miles south of the Philadelphia International Airport in the City of Chester, PPL Park was designed by Rossetti Architects and the ICON Venue Group. Its exterior facade is brick and natural stone, in the manner of traditional Philadelphia architecture, and the stadium boasts a seating capacity of 18,500 for soccer tournaments and 26,000 for concerts, along with 30 luxury suites and the Stadium Club, an 11,000-square-foot full-service restaurant. The stadium is located alongside the historic Delaware River, and approximately 60% of spectators will enjoy views of the river and the Commodore Barry Bridge from their seats.
Three premium seating packages are available, all of which offer a dedicated premium seating liaison, complimentary parking pass, game program, pre-game field access and Stadium Club access, with breathtaking views of the stadium and the Delaware river. The Field Level Seats package includes priority pre-game terrace seating in the Stadium Club. Or get a private Field Side Table for four along the sideline, right near the players' benches, with in-seat food and beverage service and a pre-game stadium tour. The Super Club package for two includes complementary in-seat food and beverage service, along with a flight to one match during the season, including travel, lodging and stadium entry, access to the Legends Room dedicated to Philadelphia soccer history, and a choice of either an autographed jersey or soccer ball.
For the ultimate luxury game-day experience, rent a private suite. Suites can accommodate anywhere from 14 to 18 guests and offer the finest amenities and personal service, including customizable menu options and a dedicated wait staff.
PPL Park's grand opening is scheduled for June 27, 2010.
