Those traveling through Paris’ Charles de Gaulle airport will soon see some high-fashion editions to terminal 2E. Aéroports de Paris has constructed a new luxury shopping area that will “pay tribute to French fashion and creation.” The four anchor stores—Chanel, Cartier, Dior and Hermès—are some of the most popular names in French fashion and are surrounded by a lounge area of leather sofas, artwork and an oak Hungarian Point parquet floor. "Paris is a byword for culture, French know-how, and refinement,” noted Aéroports de Paris Chairman and CEO Augustin de Romanet. “Beyond Paris, these values embody France. We wanted to create a new setting for our partner brands as well as for our passengers. Paris must become an airport destination of choice for travelers.”
The construction took nearly 15 months to finish, with each boutique being operated as a stand-alone store, complete with entire collections, private consultation rooms and specialty items. Cartier offers a full line of watches, jewelry and engagement rings, while the Chanel location includes their ready-to-wear line, shoes and jewelry. The Dior boutique boasts an entire space dedicated to footwear, with a separate room for accessories and leather goods, and features two house statues from the Dior private collection. Hermès offers both men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, accessories and leather goods. In addition they also house a large selection of the brand’s iconic silk scarves.
