Yesterday, Orlando’s Downtown Disney officially re-opened as Disney Springs in an effort to make the commercial district a more adult-friendly destination. On the same day, Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto opened Morimoto Asia located in The Landing, one of Disney Springs' four neighborhoods. The restaurant will offer families a selection of Asian and Western fusion food.
Dishes will focus on flavors from China, Thailand, South Korea and Japan, and will give diners an opportunity to experience the very best in pan-Asian cuisine. Menu highlights will include lobster chow fun, moo shu pork, dim sum and sushi. Kids can enjoy favorites like chicken ramen and karaage friend chicken. “I’m very excited to bring this new concept to Disney, something I’ve always dreamed of,” said Chef Morimoto. “It’s a wonderful chance to share some of my favorite foods from across the Asian continent.”
The two-story restaurant will cater to the 21 and over crowd with a 14-seat sushi counter on the top floor and the Forbidden Lounge bar that will serve a number of Asian beers, sakes and wines. A Morimoto signature beer, brewed by Rogue Ales, will also be available. Morimoto Asia will be open daily from 5-11 p.m. The Forbidden Lounge will be open until 1 a.m.
