The year to visit Orlando is here. The city that has all your favorite theme parks is opening new attractions that put a fresh spin on adventure travel. SeaWorld is set to open Turtle Trek, a 3-D experience that will take guests on an underwater trek, offering riders the chance to get a taste of a sea turtle’s life. Not only is the ride 3-D, it will be shown in a 360 degree dome for an ultimate reality experience. Discovery Cove allows guests to learn about our ocean eco-system with breathtaking, state-of-the-art technology.
At the Walt Disney World Resort, Fantasyland will expand to include new adventure from some of our favorite Disney classics. Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid lets guests swim alongside Ariel in her battle against Ursula, while Be Our Guest Restaurant, found inside Beauty and The Beast’s castle, allows visitors to dine in style. Reports say that Be Our Guest Restaurant will cater to a casual crowd during the day, but will magically transform into a finer dining establishment in the evening. Disney character Goofy also gets a little shine with a roller-coaster, The Great Goofini, which will be found in its new Storybook Circus home located in the newly expanded Fantasyland.
The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman, a fan favorite at the Universal Orlando Resort, is getting a high-definition makeover that will allow for the most realistic experience to date. In addition, Universal Studios is opening a 3-D ride based on the animated film Despicable Me where guests will become Gru-trained minions. Citywalk at Universal is also seeing the addition of a movie-themed mini-golf course while the newly debuted Legoland Florida is incorporating a water park replete with water slides, wave pools, a lazy river, and a designated splash area for toddlers.
