Shopping: United Nude shoes has transferred its sculptural artsy-looking shoes to the décor of its newly opened New York flagship in the Bowery.
United Nude's creative director and founder Dutch architect Rem D Koolhaas, says that the stylish location was a no-brainer, "This is a chic location. This neighborhood is on the way up with The Bowery Hotel, the New Museum, and new shops and cafes opening."
There's clearly an artistic bent in the Koolhaas family, as Rem Koolhaas, designed the Prada flagship in New York.
The 1,800-square-foot has deliberately dark lighting, which showcases The Wall of Light, a series of light boxes that change different colors while illuminating individual shoes, including nine exclusive styles. In addition to including jewelry, a new for the brand, the store also houses a Lamborghini sculpture, shipped from China and placed in a position of prominence.
Famous faces at the opening included Kirsten Dunst, Kim Cattrall, Kim Kardashian, Susan Sarandon and other household names.
