New York City’s Restaurant Row has a stylish new eatery dressing up the recently-opened Riu Plaza in Times Square. "Fashion" is a chic breakfast, lunch and dinner spot for hotel guests and locals hungry for a pre-theater dinner or late-night bite. The $310 million Riu Plaza New York Times Square is RIU Hotels & Resorts’ first foray into NY, and Fashion’s menu is inspired by the hotel’s Spanish roots and global destinations. Head Chef Randy Chalas has been with the brand for 15 years, bringing his Dominican Republic influences and traditional Caribbean ingredients to his menus in Cabo San Lucas, Punta Cana, and now NYC’s Fashion where his signature dish is Prawns in Yucca Sauce.
RIU Times Square is the brand’s second hotel in the U.S., following their Miami Beach locations. RIU Hotels & Resorts is Spain’s largest hotel chain with more than 100 hotels in 18 countries. The company was founded in 1953 on the Spanish island of Mallorca by the Riu family, who has owned the resort chain for three generations. The hotelier opened its first city property in 2010, and is expanding with new locations including Berlin, Guadalajara, Panama City, Orlando and San Francisco.
