This autumn, The Peninsula New York will be holding a Wine Dinner Series at the hotel’s Clement restaurant. The event will take place over three evenings in October, November and December, and will highlight the talents of winemakers from the US and Europe. Each night will be hosted by a different vineyard and will showcase five, hand-picked wines, while vintners discuss their winery’s history and culture. The tastings will take place in the restaurant’s Color Room and will be accompanied by a four-course menu created by the hotel’s new Executive Chef, Sam Linder.
On October 6, Soliste Cellars from Sonoma, California will present their collection of Burgundy-style wine. Started by Claude Koeberle, a former Three-star Michelin Chef, and Donald Plumley, the California-based winery focuses on aromatic and vibrant flavors while using pure, local fruit. Claude Koeberle will host that evening.
On November 4, Luca Paschina will present a flight from her winery, Barboursville Vineyard. One of the most-respected wineries in Virginia, Barboursville was built on the property of the 18th Governor of Virginia, James Barbour, in 1976. The vineyard is known for its exceptionally high-quality fruit, as 141 of the estate’s 870 acres are dedicated entirely to the grape vines.
Marilisa Allegrini with host an evening with Allegrini Estates on December 2. Hailing from the Valpolicella wine-making region of Italy, the Allegrini vineyard has been in the family for over six generations. The property sits on the foothills of Fumane and includes 264 acres with seven distinct wine sites and a wide range of micro-climates, soils and fruit for a beautiful variety of wine and flavor.
