In the city that never sleeps, the world's largest urban playground, it's only natural that its inhabitants are going to need a place to unwind. As it so happens, beauty behemoth Elizabeth Arden has just the solution.
With 100 years of service under their belt, Elizabeth Arden’s Red Door Spa will take up a new residence on an esteemed Park Avenue address. As a major player in the day spa industry, the iconic Red Door Spa will stretch out among 10,000 square feet of space at 200 Park Avenue South with 100 feet of wraparound frontage. The third New York location is a part of the brand’s attempt to gain a greater share of the $50 billion global spa share.
“After almost two years of evaluating locations in Manhattan for its global flagship retail boutique and new Red Door Spa, this corner at 200 Park Avenue South works perfectly,” said Michael Gordon, a representative of Elizabeth Arden. “It’s very accessible for Elizabeth Arden customers and will enhance the retail mix in Union Square.”
Since 1910, the Canadian-American businesswoman, Elizabeth Arden devoted her life to creating beauty that was “an intelligent union of nature and science” in order to “develop one’s finest natural assets” with the use of quality services, scientifically-proven ingredients and unique treatments. Throughout the years, and at the peak of her career, her fundamental practices led to her becoming one of the wealthiest women in the world.
Along with spa services, luxury beauty products will be sold on the ground floor, separate from the treatment rooms on the lower level. This intentional design is an attempt to keep up healthy competition with such neighborhood beauty stores and spas like Sephora, Fresh, Oasis Day Spa, and Heaven Spa.
This new location will also be next to other high-end stores such as Whole Foods, W Hotel and Lululemon Athletica, which works out nicely, if you ask me. First stop, a morning at Red Door Spa for a facial and massage, then some wholesome eats next door before meandering on over to Lululemon for those hot new yoga pants we’ve all been eyeing. What a beautiful union.
