The French Quarter needs no introduction. The vibrant New Orleans neighborhood is the oldest in the state and is a cultural melting pot of stunning architecture, live music and plenty of Voodoo mystery. Sitting in the middle of this bustling and historic district is the W New Orleans – French Quarter, a hotel that itself has a reputation of being spirited, stylish and chic.
This Big Easy property hidden down cobblestone streets is home to 97 guest rooms including four carriage houses and one deluxe suite. All accommodations come with W signature beds, Bliss Bath amenities, two W Signature Waffle spa robes, 40” flat screen TVs, Tivoli radios and views of the Vieux Carré or courtyard. Among their six room choices, the four Studio Suites sit in a standalone building and offer private balconies or courtyards.
Decorated with golden hues, white lines and sleek black accents, the suites reflect a true sense of place. Along with a sitting area, they also come with a master bedroom, Bliss lemon + sage sinkside six amenities and either a second balcony outdoors or a private courtyard with a Jacuzzi. It’s the perfect space for a romantic getaway, girl’s weekend or a mini staycation.
Around the property, guests can chill poolside at WET, get a workout in at FIT workout facility or dine at SoBou restaurant helmed by James Beard-nominated Chef Tory McPhail of Commander’s Palace and Executive Chef Juan Carlos Gonzalez. Inspired by Louisiana street food, the menu is made up of small plates and reimagined New Orleans classics such as buttermilk beignets with chicory coffee ganache.
When it comes time to mingle with friends over drinks, the in-house bar chef, Laura Bellucci, offers a creative cocktail menu filled with handcrafted libations. Sip on the Jean Lafitte, which honors the famous New Orleans pirate/patriot. But if cocktails aren’t your style, don’t worry there are also self-serve wine and beer machines in the Beer Garden.
Out its doors, there is more to discover just minutes from the hotel. W is located nearby Bourbon Street, The Riverwalk, the historic Jackson Square, charming bistros, boutique shops, live music and art galleries. When you’re doing sightseeing for the day, head back to the hotel, pop a bottle of Champagne in your room and relax in one of the most comfortable beds around.
