Earlier this year, Le Méridien New Orleans officially showed off its new digs following a $29 million renovation. And the results are pretty impressive. Creating a culturally refined and contemporary space, the four-star hotel pays tribute to its locations while still honoring its European heritage.
Located two blocks from the French Quarter, travelers can get the full NOLA experience while still enjoying a good night’s rest away from the bustling streets. Forgoing the traditional hotel lobby feel, the brand chose to focus on creating an innovative space for their creative-minded travelers. The Hub allows guests to engage with each other over specially-crafted espressos and pastries.
Also among its updates was a reimagining of their 410 guestrooms, which includes 22 suites. Many offer panoramic views of the Mississippi River and feature a Champagne and tobacco color palette. Defined by sleek lines and locally-inspired décor, the guestrooms offer a modern abode with a steamer-trunk that houses a refrigerator and abstract art on the walls. Inside the suites, sleek black leather seats, gray sofas, patterned carpeting and a dining room table fill the spacious rooms. Located on floors 16-23, the Corner Suite decorated in cool, neutral tones is approximately 525 square feet and comes with an additional half bath. Situated a few floors higher on level 22 and 23, the 566-square-foot Luxury Suites offer a little more space.
As you venture through the hotel, you’ll notice three dining venues, each offering a unique atmosphere and menu. LMNO, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, is a mix of Creole, Cajun and new American cuisine from Executive Chef Mauricio Gutierrez. At Longitude 90 inside the Hub, guests can relax over a cup of coffee or treat themselves to a local favorite such as gumbo or a classic po-boy. Marche’s large windows allow natural light to fill the space and its scenic views provide a great backdrop for luncheons, breakfast meetings or dinner receptions.
Or travelers can discover the restaurants, shopping and activities available right outside the hotel’s doors. Le Méridien is nearby the Warehouse District, the Contemporary Arts Center (CAC), Harrah's Casino, Shops at Canal Place and the Mardi Gras museum. Plus, one of the perks of being a guest at the property is being able to participate in the Unlock Art™ program. As a visitor, travelers are offered complimentary access to local contemporary cultural institutions through the hotel’s partnerships including the CAC, Ogden Museum of Southern Art and the New Orleans Museum of Art.
Back at the property, the 4th floor rooftop pool is a great place to relax after a day of sightseeing. Along with complimentary lounge chairs, guests can reserve a poolside cabana to ensure a more intimate experience. Cabanas come with a couch, lounge chair and a TV. Active travelers can head to the 24-hour fitness center at any time of day to work up a sweat. The gym comes with new, state-of-the-art machines, free weights, cardiovascular equipment and medicine balls.
Whether visiting for leisure or business, this downtown New Orleans hotel offers anything you might need for a great New Orleans vacation. Plus, as a Starwood hotel, you can rest assured that you’re in good hands.
