Le Méridien’s UNLOCK ART™ program has allowed guests access to many cultural institutions throughout the globe including Africa, Asia, North America, Europe and the Middle East. This impressive exploration of contemporary art will be extending to Le Méridien New Orleans, which is slated to open this winter.
Accommodations will include complimentary access to the Contemporary Arts Center New Orleans simply by presenting a hotel keycard. Guests will also be able to visit The Ogden Museum of Southern Art and New Orleans Museum of Art, the latter of which contains the largest art collection in the region and nearly 40,000 and five acres of sculpture gardens. Along with admission to these fine art centers, the new hotel will play a role in annual events such as The Ogden Museum's "O What a Night!" and "Whitney White Linen Night" at the Contemporary Arts Center.
With a focus on New Orleans arts and culture, designer Meyer Davis has worked extensively to create a fusion of the signature mid-century aesthetic behind most Le Méridien locations with New Orleans' unmistakable style. Davis used wrought iron accents and highlighted cultural NOLA icons like Louis Armstrong and Mardi Gras décor to dress the property.
With a prime location neighboring the Arts District and within walking distance to some of the Big Easy's best live jazz clubs, nightlife and dining of the French Quarter, Le Méridien New Orleans makes it easy to dive in, head first, into the city’s rich culture.
