On July 30, The Mandarin Oriental opened its newest hotel in Milan’s fashion district, only steps from the luxurious shopping streets of Via Manzoni, Via Della Spiga and Montenapoleone. The property offers convenient access to the city’s best fashion, dining and cultural destinations. The hotel resides on Via Andegari, within four 18th-century buildings that blend seamlessly with the city’s historic aesthetic. Offering 73 rooms and 31 suites, the Mandarin is designed to feel less like a commercial property and more like a personal residence through the use of timeless Italian style and Asian touches. The interior was designed by the internationally-renowned studio Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel Interiors.
In addition to their 104 luxurious rooms, they also have a spa and wellness center, salon, fitness center, indoor pool, meeting and event facilities (with event and wedding planners on staff) and several restaurants. “We are delighted to introduce Mandarin Oriental’s renowned hospitality to Italy, and are confident that Mandarin Oriental, Milan will become a new luxury landmark for guests seeking the finest address in the city,” Luca Finardi, the hotel’s General Manager, said in a statement.
Guests can enjoy the beauty and culture of the city at the hotel’s fine dining restaurant Seta. The executive chef, Antonio Guida (formerly of the two Michelin-starred restaurant Il Pellicano) offers up an extensive menu of Tuscan, French and Asian-inspired dishes. For a lively atmosphere in a less formal setting, eat and drink at the bistro-style café, Mandarin Bar, where Milanese aperitivo (or evening drinks) are created by expert mixologists nightly. Rates begin at €750 (approx. $820) per night.
