After a summer-long full redesign, the distinguished Chef Nobu and the legendary fashion house Armani have reopened the doors of their collaborative restaurant Armani/Nobu. Located in the Via Pisoni, 1, neighborhood of Milan and set at the Emporio Armani Store, guests can enjoy world-class sushi after a day of shopping.
Featuring aesthetics by Armani, the restaurant is a beautifully understated take on a sushi-house motif. Seating offers clean lines and bold color with rich wood chairs offset by alternating patterns for bench-style seating. However, while orange is the name of the game when it comes to the upholstery, the rest of the space uses natural light tones with contrasting dark wood accents. Traditional Japanese ceiling beams rest above while unique wall installations of moiré patterns intersperse with thin wooden outlines.
Matted, woven panels alternate with the above fixtures to create a sense of depth throughout the restaurant. Armani flooring adds further texturing with a design that appears like distressed wood but is, in fact, herringbone parquet.
Accompanying the unique nature of the design elements, the menu at Armani/Nobu gives guests an array of flavors that creatively fuse traditional flavors with Chef Nobu's flair for creativity. Along with sushi and sashimi staples like unagi, masago, yellowtail and spicy tuna, Nobu has included imaginative dishes like Nobu Tacos which offer sashimi inside wonton taco shells and a side of salsa.
The new layout accommodates 130 patrons on the ground floor and 100 on the upper floor. Upstairs also holds a temperature-regulated wine cellar and smoking area.
