LoLa Hospitality Holdings initially made waves when it debuted its third location in Palm Beach, FL four years ago. Since then, the restaurant group just keeps getting better and has expanded to now include a fourth recently opened location in Naples.
For visiting New Englanders, nestled away on the corner of Sunset Avenue and Bradley Place inside the White Elephant Palm Beach, there is a familiar classic.
Coming to South Florida after receiving accolades for its award-winning cuisine on Nantucket and in Boston, the hospitality group’s stylish island restaurant, LoLa 41 Palm Beach, is easily recognizable with its black and white awnings. LoLa (short for longitude and latitude) is named for its eclectic menu of flavors inspired by countries situated along the 41st parallel.
Inside, a bustling bar and main dining room await, but the see-and-be-seen patio is where the lively vibe is at. Order up one of their signature cocktails like a Lola Spritz made with Yuzu liqueur or a Spicy Flamingo kicked up with Ghost tequila and balanced with watermelon.
LoLa 41 is best known for its sushi and the Palm Beach location offers an impressive menu that includes everything from classic rolls and nigiri sushi to sashimi and specialty rolls. We recommend starting off with their beautifully presented Asahi specialty roll, a tasty combination of spicy salmon, avocado, and crunchy tempura made even better topped with tuna, salmon and wasabi mayo.
Other specialty rolls include Golden Beet Maki; Spicy Scallops; and Yutaka with barbecue eel and King crab. Classic rolls include familiar favorites like California, Rainbow, Spicy Tuna, and Dynamite with Yellowtail.
The Global Bistro Menu here features a nice selection of smaller plates to get started, including Hoisin baby back ribs, grilled octopus, and edamame. The lightly fried King Crab Rangoon are a must-try appetizer filled with cream cheese drizzled with sweet chili sauce for a little heat.
The chicken lettuce cups are almost too pretty to eat – a colorful combination of garlic, ginger, sweet soy, sesame seed, pickled vegetable, fresno chili, and micro cilantro.
If you have some time to spare, be sure to try their famous Peking duck for two. Diners are asked to allow up to 45 minutes for the chefs to prepare, but it’s well worth the wait.
For more immediate gratification, the lobster tagliatelle is one of their signature dishes filled with fresh lobster meat combined with zucchini and charred tomatoes served in a delicious lemon mascarpone cream sauce.
Another popular dish is the LoLa burger. The untraditional burger is made even better topped with melted cheddar cheese, red onion compote, and foie gras sauce served on an English muffin. Be sure to order up a side of truffle fries with white truffle oil, Italian parsley, and pecorino to complement it.
Keep an eye out for Happy Hour specials served up at the bar daily from 4 to 6 p.m. Signature bar bites include Peking duck bao buns and crispy shrimp buns paired up with drink specials, beer, and wines by the glass.
LoLa 41 Palm Beach is located at 290 Sunset Avenue in Palm Beach, Florida.
