The hottest new racket sport to hit the scene, padel, is taking over Miami with the debut of the first-ever Reserve Cup Presented by Richard Mille. NBA icon Jimmy Butler and Founder of Reserve Padel, Wayne Boich, have teamed up to bring together 14 of the world’s best padel players to compete for the largest prize money per player in padel history.
“Miami is in for something special,” says Miami Heat star and Reserve Cup Partner, Jimmy Butler. “I’m thrilled to be a part of this global Padel movement... I’ve seen Padel come a long way over the last couple of years, and I’m very excited for the future of the sport. Looking forward to this tournament which will be a lot of fun and great for the city of Miami.”
Butler and New York Yankees legend Derek Jeter will serve as tournament team captains, while tennis star Venus Williams and actress Claire Holt will play in a special celebrity charity match that has already raised upwards of $1 million. During the 3-day showcase of the world’s fastest growing sport, attendees can watch padel greats including Juan Lebron and Ale Galan hit the court, plus enjoy entertainment, dining, and curated shopping.
“I am humbled by the chance to bring what I believe to be the pinnacle of padel to the United States, showcasing the epitome of this exciting sport alongside the world’s top players and premier entertainment,” says Wayne Boich, Founder/CEO of Reserve Padel. “Having spent the last 18 months laying the groundwork at Reserve leading up to this pivotal event, launching Reserve Cup Presented by Richard Mille in Miami is a testament to the vision we’ve worked diligently to bring to life, and I extend my sincere thanks to Richard Mille for their invaluable support in helping to make this possible. This will be the largest independently owned padel event in the world, set to redefine the landscape of elite padel tournaments for years to come.”
