The Louis Vuitton brand is stepping outside of the box and getting in touch with its artistic side. Miami’s vibrant “street-art” aesthetic is being incorporated into the Louis Vuitton South Florida location, with an artwork commission that will decorate the exterior of the temporary store site located in the Design District of the city. LA-based artist Retna created a colorful, layered piece of work using some of the city’s most signature colors—hot pink, teal, and sky blue—evoking a tropical mood that mirrors the easy, ready-to-wear nature of Vuitton's latest fashion collections.
The brand’s permanent location will open up sometime in 2014, but until then, the Design District locale will cater to the area’s trend-setting residents, complete with its VIP salon and Travel Room decorated with teak and Parisian antiques. With a rich cultural demographic, Miami has long been an experimental city when it comes to branding and fashion. The temporary luxury shop will help determine what ready-wear collections will be expanded into the permanent store location.
