Ferrari World, the IMG World Of Adventure, LEGOLAND, an Emirati-themed water park, Yas Waterworld and now a Warner Bros. World—Abu Dhabi is clearly all about fun these days. Set to open in 2018 on Yas Island, the latest entertainment venue to park itself in UAE’s capital is the major film studio’s $1-billion theme park.
The studio is partnering with Miral Asset Management to develop the park which will also include the first Warner Bros. branded hotel. Already home to seven hotels, UAE’s largest shopping mall, 100 F&B venues and golf courses, Yas Island mimics Sentosa Island in Singapore, but on a grander scale. Currently the isle gets about 25 million visitors a year which is projected to jump to 30 million in 2018. Among the new experiences at Warner Bros. World will be the cartoon worlds of Looney Tunes, Gotham City and Metropolis, Hanna-Barbera and plenty of DC Comics exhibits. Warner Bros. already operates theme parks in Australia, Spain, London and California.
