On days five through eight, couples will head to Sabi Sand’s 139,000-acre game reserve which holds one of the highest and most bio-diverse wildlife populations in South Africa. Here you’ll get an up-close-and-personal look at the country’s Big Five: elephants, rhinoceros, buffalo, lions and leopards. Plus you may even spot other four-footed residents such as klipspringers, impalas, greater kudus, over 40 species of raptors and baboons.
There are three properties to choose from on the reserve including the Bush Lodge, Little Bush Camp and Selati Camp. The latter boats a colonial Out of Africa-style main building and eight suites with king or twin beds. For a more intimate choice, Little Bush Camp is a smaller option with six luxury suites with private viewing decks and heated spa baths. Bush Lodge is the camp’s flagship accommodation overlooking a watering hole and an African plain. Its 25 bush cottages offer air-conditioning, local décor and a communal area with a pool and viewing deck.
The package is priced at $3,800 per person (based on double occupancy) and includes accommodations at both hotels with a complimentary upgrade at Twelve Apostles, internal flights, transfers, activities, meals and other surprises. To top it all off, you and your beau will get a birds-eye view of Cape Town with a private seven-minute minute helicopter tour over the city (if you book by January 15, 2016).
