Los Angeles Events: Well known for their flawless execution, Acura did not disappoint the discerning crowd. VIPS, celebs and execs were a flutter flashing at the new four-door coupe concept by Acura. The sumptuous ironed leather and refined mono surfaced controls together with ZDX’s alluring exterior set the scene for a very seductive evening at the new W Hotel in Hollywood.
Continuing on the cutting edge, famed photographer Eric Madigan Heck’s fashion photography adorned the stark walls. His stunning images, typically seen in international museums and held by private collectors, was the perfect complement to the evening.
A Hollywood stylist’s comment on the photos was that it was beyond fashion.
The 26-year-old Heck, a force in fashion and fine art photography is the founder and Editor in Chief of Nomenus Quarterly. He has shot for Valentino, Jean Paul Gaultier and Lacroix, among others. Like the Acura itself, flow, form and extreme attention to detail were themes in Heck’s iconic photography.
Brooklyn based DJ Ariel Cpllin Stark-Benz was busy spinning in the W’s Great Room, appropriately named. Benz formerly of Portland’s Ace Hotel threw down that hip to be square flair that the Ace is so known for. The edgy sexy vibe was paired seamlessly with a flow of Cosmos and mixed drinks at the open bar. Champagne and wine was passed to accommodate the capacity crowd.
At first glance, walking down the W’s grand and dramatic staircase was a slice of vintage cinema. It was a staircase clearly designed for grand dames and icons. To give it a contemporary spin, that old Hollywood feel is mixed with a buzzing bar below in the lobby, filled with the fashion forward.
One could only wonder how Acura’s ZDX was going to make its exit. Whatever the course, I imagine it will be seamless.
