Meet-and-greets are great, but eat-and-greets are much tastier. Fans of great chefs and great food won’t want to miss the Santa Monica Grand Tasting event at the Santa Monica Pier on June 13-14. During the weekend, foodies can mingle with 25 of Los Angeles’ best chefs, watch them in action, and eat to their hearts content.
The star of the weekend? Susan Feniger, Co-Chef/Owner, Border Grill Restaurants & Truck and Mud Hen Tavern. She heads the parade of participating chefs including: Raj Dixit of Stonehill Tavern, Adam Fleischman of Tacoteca, David Hands of Bouchon, Phillip Frankland Lee of Scratch Bar, Luke Smith of Fiamme Pizza Napoletana, LA Sweet Tooth Confections’s Paula Solis/Leslie Z., Ace Culinary Academy School’s Cecilia De Castro, Chef Adam Steudle of Hotel Erwin (home of the event’s after-parties) and more.
It’s a casual-chic food fantasy, thanks to samples being prepared by over 50 vendors daily. The affair is presented by Santa Monica Wholefoods Market and other participating sponsors including Evian, BADOIT, The St. Regis Monarch Beach, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Kerry Gold Cheese & Butter, Choctal, GG's Toffee, Cutco, Fresh Brothers and Nature's Bakery.
One ticket buys endless samples from 7-10 p.m. each day, and supports the Chill Foundation which tastefully helps underserved youth build self-esteem through sports. Tickets range from $100-150 per person.
