Now the picturesque scene at oceanfront luxury resort, Casa del Mar in Santa Monica California, speaks not only to the passing traveler but to the Angeleno looking for libations and live entertainment. The grand lobby ascending upon a never failing view of the Santa Monica Mountains, pier, and Pacific Ocean vibes with live music Tuesdays through Sundays from 7 to 10 pm. Complementing musical styles from jazz to contemporary, the "Market Fresh Mixology" cocktail menu changes depending upon the season and featured bartender.
Additionally, the Prohibition-inspired cocktails, which utilize in-house, barrel-aged, liquor, add sophisticated sips to the menu. On a recent evening, as the orange autumn sun set over the ocean, we sunk into plush arm chairs and sipped from featured mixologist Aidan Demerest’s creations. The Sage Advice was a refreshing blend of vodka, lemon, apple, maple syrup tickled by sage liquor and trimmed with the fresh herb. A classic Mai Tai creation, hit each rum-laden note finding smoky spice from added chipotle.
Cinnamon and fresh plum garnishing La Pistola provided unique contrast to lemon-infused Milagro. Casa del Mar has a fluent list of barrel-aged libations including whiskey, gin, herbs and fruits, infused in-house for a rich flavor found inside each warming sip. For bites, a complete menu showcasing Casa del Mar’s farm-to-table fresh eats from charcuterie, to short rib, to sushi can be ordered in the lobby lounge all evening.
