For a limited time, and just until March 18, 2012, haute couture enthusiasts, fashionistas, and theatre aficionados will delight in a feast for the eyes during the Il Teatro alla Moda - Theater in Fashion exhibition at The Wallis Annenberg Center For The Performing Arts. It is the first exhibit of its kind to explore some of Italy’s best iconic fashion designers and their talent for haute couture. The exhibit emphasizes these designers' impact on the stages of opera, dance and theater. More than 80 costumes, sketches and drawings from Giorgio Armani, Roberto Capucci, Enrico Coveri, Fendi, Alberta Ferretti, Missoni, Emanuel Ungaro, Valentino and Gianni Versace are featured.

Romeo Gigli, The Magic Flute,
Antonio Marras, Midsummer Night’s Dream, Missoni, Lucia di Lammermoor, Ungaro, The Clemency of Titus, Valentino, The Dream of Valentino, Roberto Capucci, Tribute to Maria Callas and Capriccio, and finally
Gianni Versace, Salome, Capriccio, Dionysos, and Doktor Faustus.
Il Teatro alla Moda was conceived and curated by Massimiliano Capella of Musei Mazzucchelli in Brescia, Italy and promoted by Fondazione Giacomini Meo Fiorot, Onlus Musei Mazzucchelli, and Altaroma. It is presented by The Wallis Annenberg Center For The Performing Arts and organized by Curatorial Assistance, Inc. The selected works have been previously exhibited in Rome at the Museo del Corso during November and December of 2010, Brescia at the Musei Mazzucchelli January through April of 2011, and in Milan at the Palazzo Morando during May through July of 2011. It will be on display at the Villa Manin in the outskirts of Venice July 20 to November 4, 2012.
While construction continues on Beverly Hills’s new Wallis Annenberg Center For The Performing Arts, the costume exhibit will remain at a temporary gallery on the ground floor of the new MGM Place, located at 253 North Beverly Drive. Hours are Wednesday-Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is just $10, however, students are free. The exhibit closes on March 18, 2012.
