Featuring Tschaikovsky’s majestic score, the most quintessential of Christmas shows, The Nutcracker is returning to the Royal Albert Hall this December. Enjoy the true magic of Christmas, as Clara’s toys come to life at midnight. Embark on a voyage of imagination and spellbinding discovery through a fantastical winter wonderland of dancing snowflakes to the magical kingdom of the Sugar Plum Fairy. The Birmingham Royal Ballet’s festive favorite has been created exclusively for The Royal Albert Hall, with spectacular period costumes and glittering projections. The Christmas classic is brought to life by Birmingham Royal Ballet’s world-class ballet dancers and orchestra, the Royal Ballet Sinfonia.
This enchanting production was Sir Peter Wright’s gift to the City of Birmingham when Sadler’s Wells Royal Ballet relocated to the city in 1990, and it remains one of the world’s most gorgeous presentations of this charming festive tale. Having broken all previous box office records in the Birmingham 2023 run, this year will see the first-ever Relaxed performance at Birmingham Hippodrome, which will bring this story to life for children and young people usually unable to attend theatre productions of this scale (1pm, Tuesday 3 December).
The Nutcracker’s Birmingham run begins on 22 November, playing through until 14 December. The Royal Albert Hall presentation of The Nutcracker runs from 29-31 December. Book now to enjoy the perfect sparkling festive treat for all the family.
