London has never been short on luxury hotels, but 2017 will see new entrants to the market trying to attract the luxury traveler. Here are our picks of the best new hotels opening in London in 2017.
Four Seasons at 10 Trinity Square
Four Seasons at 10 Trinity Square opens on 26 January, 2017 in a Grade II listed building, overlooking Tower of London in the City of London. Expect an exquisite restoration of a beautiful building and a welcome addition to the London luxury hotel scene. The hotel will offer 100 rooms as well as 41 private residences and three dining options, including three Michelin-starred Chef Anne-Sophie Pic’s first London restaurant. There will be a luxurious spa, state-of-the-art fitness center and beautiful indoor pool.
The Ned is the new members’ club, restaurant and hotel from Soho House in a Grade I listed building, which once housed the headquarters of the Midland Bank. Due to open in early 2017, the hotel and club will have 252 bedrooms, nine restaurants, rooftop and indoor swimming pools, a gym, spa and hammam.
Bedrooms will be categorized as small, medium, large and big, and designed to represent the hierarchy of a 1930s bank, from a cozy, small room with floral wallpaper where a mail clerk might have stayed, to the large rooms, once occupied by a director with grand four-poster beds and rich fabrics.
While Soho House & Co. operates members’ clubs worldwide, the Ned will not be a members-only business. However, there will be members-only access to a rooftop space with swimming pool overlooking the City of London, Canopy Bar & Restaurant, and fitness and wellbeing facilities.
The Curtain Hotel is set to be one of the coolest 2017 hotel openings in London.
The hotel will feature a rooftop swimming pool, private screening room and The Red Rooster restaurant, an offshoot of chef Marcus Samuelsson's Harlem restaurant, a gym designed by Jon Squirrel of The Vault, art curated by Steve Lazarides, a gallery owner best known for his role as Banksy's agent, and photography by Mick Rock.
In addition to 120 luxury guest rooms, there are six suites, and over 6,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
The launch of Nobu Hotel Shoreditch will see Nobu Hospitality group’s first European hotel. Due to open in early 2017, the hotel design will be industrial: angular structures, concrete balconies and steel beams dominate the design of the 150-room property.
The hotel’s restaurant will be developed by Chef Nobu Matsuhisa with his signature east-meets-west philosophy.
