Last month Gordon Ramsay opened Maze Grill at 11 Park Walk, the original site of the Aubergine restaurant where the chef got his start over 20 years ago. The new restaurant reflects Ramsay’s love for Manhattan’s steakhouses with a menu that consists of poultry, fish and rare-breed steaks. Sushi and sashimi are also served alongside an extensive selection of European wines and Japanese sakes.
Sourced from artisan suppliers in the UK, US and Japan, steaks are dry-aged in the restaurant’s on-site Himalayan salt lockers for 21 to 28 days. In addition to premium steaks, diners can enjoy other dishes like baby chicken, a short rib burger, or beef cheek and bone marrow pie. Those who prefer more surf than turf can order soft shell crab sliders, scallops yuzu or sample from their sashimi selection.
“11 Park Walk is steeped in history and we are very excited about returning there, but to be doing something different. Aubergine was a one-off restaurant and of its time,” explained Stuart Gillies, the Managing Director of the Gordon Ramsay Group. “The new restaurant reflects an increasing demand for a casual, yet quality dining experiences, and we have identified a number of cosmopolitan neighborhood locations for the Maze Grill brand. We are delighted to be moving forward and evolving with a proven format.”
In addition to lunch and dinner, guests can also book special events and experiences including the butcher’s block experience where guests sit at the chef’s table and overlook the “action and theater” of the Maze Grill Park Walk kitchen. The restaurant opens at noon on weekdays and 10 a.m. on weekends.
