How well do you know your bubbles? If you usually leave the ordering of champagne to someone else, here's you're chance to become a connoisseur of the sparkly stuff. For one month only, French Bubbles will be launching a boutique pop-up shop, plus a series of masterclasses at The Anthologist. Until November 14, 2012, in a series of hour-long evening masterclasses, French Bubbles will share expert knowledge. Guests will be given the know-how to get to grips with grapes and the differences between regions, producers, and production techniques.
You'll taste three different champagnes, with classes tailored towards different grapes and styles such as blanc de blanc, blanc de noir, rosé, demi sweet and vintage. Champagnes on offer will include Collin Blanche de Castille, Champagne Lacroix Brut 2005 and Pertoise-Moriset Rosé Grand Cru NV. Each champagne will be matched with carefully selected cheese or canapés, such as Thai beef skewers, tempura crispy squid, salmon ceviche and crispy shredded duck. All will be provided courtesy of The Anthologist, which champions delicious, locally sourced food.
French Bubbles, of whom are passionate about sourcing quality champagne from small, independent producers, will also be selling their pride and joy by the bottle, with prices starting at just about $32. So if you fall in love with something you taste, you can take more of it home! Masterclasses will be available from Monday to Wednesday at either 6 pm to 7 pm or 7:30 pm to 8:30pm, priced at $45.
