Guido Balestrelli

There is nothing quite like a beachfront getaway to melt away all of life’s stresses. As soon as you dip your toes into the powdery white sand, that’s when you know you have truly escaped.

If you want to discover a true paradise found, head to W Fort Lauderdale.

Located on the sunny shores of the Atlantic Ocean, this seaside retreat is the perfect spot for an unforgettable weekend getaway or weeklong stay. As soon as you enter the property, friendly valet attendants who are only too happy to greet four-legged guests, whisk luggage away and lead you to the elevator to check in. It’s personalized service like this that lets you know you have arrived somewhere special.

Attentive concierge and front desk attendants offer suggestions on things to do on property – perhaps start off with a margarita at El Vez, check out the gift shop, book a treatment at Away Spa, take one of the complimentary bikes for a ride along the Atlantic Ocean, go for a quick workout at FIT gym, or sign up for a beach yoga class.

There is something to do for everyone here, as well as nothing if that’s more your speed.

After all, the property caters to ensuring each guest departs having enjoyed the ultimate relaxed stay. Two towers host the property’s luxurious accommodations that range from standard guest rooms to ocean-facing suites.

For the ultimate indulgence, be sure to book a stay in their oceanfront corner one-bedroom suite.

The sprawling accommodation featuring a spacious living room, king bedroom, walk-in closet, separate office, and lavish bathroom with soaking tub is surrounded by floor-to-ceiling glass walls to soak in the views. There is also an expansive wraparound sun deck (covered on one side and exposed on the other) with lounge chairs for relaxing and a dining table for enjoying an alfresco breakfast or nightcap after dinner.

Since the oceanfront property caters to fun in the sun, a visit to the hotel’s fifth-floor hotspot, WET Deck, is a must.

Friendly servers can be seen taking orders for poolside snacks and cocktails availabe from WET Bar & Grill. Covered bungalows are also available for larger parties looking for privacy and shelter from the sun. Complimentary offerings included with your stay served poolside feature cold-pressed juice samplings, tropical smoothies, and popsicles.

When it comes to dining options, there is no need to ever have to leave the property. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served daily at El Vez while Steak 954 features dinner nightly and brunch on the weekends.

El Vez offers classic Mexican fare with a south Florida seafood flair (think crispy mahi mahi tacos, crispy whole yellowtail snapper, and shrimp enchiladas). Pair up one of their signature margaritas with an order of perfectly salted tortilla chips accompanied by their homemade red and green salsas along with a side of fresh pico de gallo.

An order of chicken tacos arrives with three overstuffed tortillas filled with melted Chihuahua cheese topped with fresh avocado, salsa, and crema. The chicken Mission burrito served on their lunch menu is overstuffed with a delicious combination of white rice, black beans, queso, guacamole, pico de gallo, and crema.

One of the best steakhouses in Fort Lauderdale, Steak 954, can be found right on property.

The modern take on the classic steakhouse features traditional favorites taken to a new level with an elevated twist. For example, yellowfin tuna tartare is topped with a flavorful lemon aioli accompanied by a cowboy chip. The specialty crab cake was chock full of fresh jumbo lump crab meat surrounded by a sampling of dill crème. Other decadent offerings include American Wagyu sliders, seared sea scallops, and hand cut beef tartare.

Be sure to save room for James Beard award-winning restaurateur Stephen Starr's signature steaks that range from a tender 8-ounce filet to a flavor filled 18-ounce Prime dry-aged bone-in New York strip. The well marbled and perfectly seared Prime dry-aged ribeye was the declared winner of the table.

Steaks here are melt-in-your-mouth delicious and served a la carte, but there is a nice selection of sides to choose from to enhance your meal. A baked Idaho potato can be topped with melted cheese served alongside traditional accompaniments, including crispy chopped bacon, fresh scallions, butter, and sour cream. Other side dishes include whipped potatoes, creamed spinach, bacon mac and cheese, and French fries (because who is counting calories?) Healthier options include grilled asparagus, mushrooms and shallots, and haricots verts.

W Fort Lauderdale is located at 401 North Fort Lauderdale Beach Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
