Among the world’s hundreds of thousands of hotels, only 21 of them are owned by celebrities. With names like Robert DeNiro (Nobu Hotel in Manila), Richard Gere (The Bedford Post Inn), Leonardo DiCaprio (Blackadore Caye) and Elizabeth Hurley (Number 11 Cadogan Gardens), the list is small, but growing each year. The newest Hollywood face to reportedly join the hotelier game is 52-year-old Brad Pitt.

The Ocean’s Eleven actor is said to be looking into building a resort in Zablace in Croatia, just outside Sibenik of the central Dalmatian region. According to Digital Journal, Pitt paid a visit to the proposed site which is currently named “Barabriga.” The $1.5 billion development would be a modern ecologically-responsible planned community with villas, hotels, a golf course, marina, schools and a clinic.

Pitt stayed at Dogusevom Hotel and embarked on a walking tour with 10 others around the proposed site. The group included internationally known architect Nikola Basic who designed the Dogusevom Hotel. This is not the first time the actor has been interested in Croatia. In 2012, he was reported to have been looking to build a similar waterfront resort along Danko Končar in northern Croatia. Although no planned build dates have been released, Swiss-based fund TFI Holding has reportedly already invested $70 million in the project.
