GIA once again invites the public to its Jewelry Career Fair & Open House at the Institute’s scenic Carlsbad headquarters. Attendees will be among the first to see a stunning Kunzite necklace designed by Paloma Picasso, newly added to the “Beauty of Science” exhibit. The 394-carat gem, named for famed gemologist George F. Kunz, was designed to commemorate Tiffany & Co.'s 150th anniversay and will be on loan from the Smithsonian. In addition to viewing the Institute’s critically acclaimed gem and jewelry exhibits, guests will have the opportunity to hear from notable personalities in the jewelry industry including celebrity designers and stylists, visit the world’s largest gemological library which houses the Cartier Rare Book Repository, and take in gem and jewelry education demos such as GIA’s new Jewelry Design & Technology program.
