In 2016, Silversea Cruises' voyages are slated to take place in 385 locations and will span across 177 voyages, and 19 of their port calls will be completely new to the cruiseline. These new additions to the luxury ocean-faring brand include stops in Asia, Europe and North America including Shimizu, Japan; Ullapool, Scotland; Kalmar, Sweden; and Summerside, Canada.
Of the planned cruises next year, a few stand out above the rest. The 115-day voyage called Venetian World Cruise covers 31 countries and 51 destinations in total. Starting in Fort Lauderdale, FL, on January 5, travelers will visit destination such as Tahiti, Bora Bora, New Zealand, Hong Kong and many more. The South Africa trips will take place aboard the vessel Silver Cloud in February. These 10-day excursions will offer port visits to Durban and Maputo among others and a night's stay at Richards Bay.
For those who like to embrace adventure over cozy respite, Silversea's 2016 Expedition Cruises look like they're going to be an absolute blast. The three ships: Silver Explorer, Silver Galapagos and Silver Discoverer, will visit in excess of 500 locations spread over 95 cruises. These notable trips will include visits to wondrous lands spread across all continents, even Antarctica. Each of the expeditions offer somewhat themed trips that range from cold and daring to warm and exotic.
The large selection of destinations, as well as a laundry list of things to do while in each country, has piqued our interest for 2016 vacations. If we had to choose one trip, though, we'd probably go with the Silver Discoverer's 15-day expedition that starts in Phuket, visits the Maldives, India, Myanmar and Sri Lanka, and ends in Male. See their full list of destinations on their website.
