Opened in April 1908, The Garfield Park Conservatory has showcased "landscape art under glass" on the West Side of Chicago for over 100 years. The park itself is a 184-acre open space near Lake Michigan. One of the largest in the United States, this conservatory grows many plants to be installed in other parks throughout the city. The landscape artistry on display under the glass roof is the beautiful home to rare plants such as Double Coconut Palm.
