The Gwen, a Luxury Collection Hotel, has just opened in Chicago’s Magnificent Mile district. The property, located in the McGraw Hill building, took over the Conrad Chicago and opened its doors at the beginning of the month. Named after Gwen Lux, the Chicago-born sculptor and artist whose work has long graced the building’s halls, the hotel offers guests a unique Art Deco-inspired design. The property is filled with luxurious décor, Lux’s art and just a touch of 1930's gilded glamour.
With 300 rooms and views of the Chicago skyline, this hotel offers some of the city’s best new accommodations. For dining options try the Asian and Mediterranean fusion cuisine al fresco at The Terrace Restaurant on the fifth floor, or sip on one of the custom libations from the indoor Terrace Bar. Rooms include marble bathrooms, in-suite spa services, turndown mixology services and specialized evening menus. The property also offers guests access to the Mercedes-Benz house car, a 24-hour fitness center, and premium shopping services in connection with The Shops at North Bridge like in-suite fitting and pre-ordering.
With 13 meeting rooms and 15,000 square feet of event space filled with the latest in audiovisual equipment, on-site technicians and a 24-hour business center, the Gwen is also one of the newest premier business destinations. But for those guests who are in Chicago for fun and sightseeing, the hotel is only a block from the Magnificent Mile and close to the city’s best attractions, museums and dining.
Rooms start at $330 per night.
