It doesn’t really matter if you’re a Chicago Bulls fan or not—you don’t even need to like sports—this is without a doubt the most awesome room we’ve seen in a while. But to gain access to a dreamy night of center-court jump shots and sky-high views of the game, you have to write an essay on why you are the number one Bulls fan. Yep, this executive suite has been transformed by Airbnb and the Chicago Bulls into a one-night-only, red and black, basketball-themed paradise—the grand prize of the former's latest contest.
The fact that it’s a temporary transformation is both the best and worst thing about this over-the-top bedroom. If you win, you basically have bragging rights for life, if you lose, well, no amount of throwing money at the screen will get you in the doors. For one lucky Bulls fan, the night will start with Scottie Pippen (your host for the evening!) taking you on a tour of the stadium and fitting you for a custom Bulls jersey before hanging out courtside while the team warms up. Then, enjoy a first-class dinner before watching the game from your Bulls-themed bedroom. Afterwards, when the venue is empty, you and Pippen can enjoy a little one-on-one b-ball before retiring to your suite to watch a movie on the Jumbotron (complete with popcorn). Or just hang out all night talking about your mutual love of the game.
“The United Center is like a second home to me,” Pippen said in a statement. “While we have hosted our fans night after night for years, we expect this to be a very special evening for our Airbnb guests. It will be fun to give them a glimpse of the spaces and share the stories that make this place so very special, making them feel like part of the family.” Of course Airbnb does ask that a few rules be followed such as “absolutely no dunking on Scottie Pippen. (But good luck trying),” “no technical fouls” and “leave the protein bars and energy drinks at home”—they promise to feed you. For a list of more official rules visit Airbnb. The contest ends on April 3, 2015.
