On Monday, Sanjay Shah, founder and CEO of Vistex, bought the penthouse at Chicago's Trump Towers for $17 million—cash. Believed to be one of the most expensive residential purchases in Chicago history, Shah purchased the 14,260-square-foot penthouse on the 89th floor, unfinished, with another $15-million cost estimated to finish it. The home has a 1,296-square-foot living room, 1,122-square-foot master bedroom, an exercise room, media room, laundry room, study and is outfitted with five fireplaces.
Shah and his wife are expecting to spend upwards of roughly $30 million by the time the residence is finished and decorated to their liking. In addition to the $17 million purchase, the couple will also be paying $12,150 monthly for condo association dues. But it seems like it’s worth it—not only is the Trump Tower in Chicago the fourth tallest building in the US (the tallest in Chicago), but also has the second highest residence in the world. Plus Shah can also count NBA star Derrick Rose among his neighbors, as the Bulls basketball player recently bought a three-bedroom-condo five floors below for $2.8 million.
