Located just steps away from Chicago's most famous attractions, including the shops of Michigan Avenue, Millennium Park and museums, is the award-winning James Chicago hotel. Decorated in artistically inspired residential style with extra attention to guest comfort, the property features lavish accommodations, world-class fitness, a relaxing spa, and great dining options.
Recently named #1 Steakhouse in Chicago by Chicago magazine, David Burke’s Primehouse has continued to redefine the modern American steakhouse by pushing the envelope of culinary creativity. The menu is marked by notable and whimsical dishes that are signature to the eclectic and innovative style of Chef David Burke, such as Pretzel Crusted Crab Cake and Kobe Beef Sashimi on Himalayan rock salt. The James Chicago also offers other fine dining options, including JIMMY, which brings the progressive era of the ‘70s into the art of the modern cocktail.
An intimate new destination for special gatherings, Burke’s Dining Room is a noteworthy addition to David Burke’s Primehouse. Conceived as a modern interpretation of the classic “chef’s table” meant for private dining, it serves to complement Chef Burke’s progressive, whimsical fare. In a search of the perfect small bite, Chef David Burke was inspired to open a restaurant that pays homage to one of his favorite ingredients. Enter Burke’s Bacon Bar, a grab-and-go style sandwich shop specializing in palm-sized, bacon-centric sandwiches dubbed “handwiches.”
With 297 guestrooms, including studios, lofts, one bedroom apartments and penthouse lofts, all are designed for the modern traveler. Function meets design with warm color palettes and flatscreen TVs as well as eco-friendly Keetsa pillows, and full-sized Intelligent Nutrients bath products. Complimentary water bottles are replenished twice daily and each room comes with fully-stocked pantries. Rooms also include cityscape views and David Burke’s Primehouse in-room dining service.
The Penthouse Lofts are designed with upscale living in mind and offer 1,400-square-foot one or two-bedroom accommodations. Dining can be customized for up to six and served at the dining area. The spa-like bathroom offers his and her sinks, a rain shower and a soaking tub with a flatscreen TV.
The Spa by ASHA ensures that every guest leaves feeling perfectly pampered and its treatments include a vast array of body massage, scrubs, polishes and custom treatments for men and expectant mothers. If you are planning your wedding, beauty experts at the Spa offer both bridal hair and makeup trials and services for the big day as well. You can also book private spa parties or opt to have the treatments take place in either treatment rooms or your guestroom. All spa services include an indulgent aromatherapy foot bath.
