The Ballantyne is the quintessential Charlotte property, with a southern style that is warm and welcoming while exuding a certain air of sophistication. Home to a hotel, lodge and cottage, the resort features a PGA golf course, spa, 30,000 square feet of event space and delectable dining venues.
The Forbes Four-Star and AAA Four-Diamond hotel is home to 208 guestrooms and suites, all elegantly decorated with rich furnishings and marble finishes. All accommodations include plush bedding, natural lighting, large picture windows, 10-foot ceilings and spacious bathrooms. Guest can enjoy Bose Wave Radios and TVs in each room. Inside the marble bathrooms, a sleek separate oval tub and glass shower are complemented by Elemis bath amenities.
The hotel features six 800-square-foot Executive Suites which overlook the golf course and come with balconies, a living room and dual marble baths. If you’re in need of something even bigger, the Two Presidential Suites are 1,200 square feet each and are located on levels six and seven. Spacious and inviting, each residence boasts original artwork, custom furnishings, a full-sized kitchen and a dining table that seats eight. In the evenings step out onto your balcony and watch the sun change colors over the golf course as it sets.
Located on property is The Golf Club at Ballantyne, a public, championship PGA golf course with a practice area, golf outing pavilion, Golf Pro Shop and Dana Rader Golf School. The 18-hole, championship par 71 course is accessible for golfers of all levels, but should you want some extra instruction, the all-inclusive training facility at Dana Rader Golf School offers private and group lessons. The school, which is the only Golf Channel Academy in the Carolinas, is led by Founder Dana Rader along with a team of certified LPGA and PGA instructors.
After a day of hitting the greens, head to Gallery Restaurant for a farm-to-table culinary experience. The eatery serves contemporary American fare with a seasonally-changing menu. Some of its dishes include sea scallops with olive oil roasted celery root ravioli, sea urchin and black truffle cream; and a 14-oz prime strip loin with hardwood-smoked Foy Farms mushrooms and bone marrow butter. For a relaxing activity, enjoy afternoon tea served Wednesday through Saturday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Pastries, bite-sized sandwiches and a selection of loose leaf teas are available.
Before exploring the city, be sure to connect with the concierge who can provide you with day trip suggestions, dinner reservations or show you the best family-fun areas in Charlotte. The hotel is located just 18 miles outside of Uptown. The NASCAR® Hall of Fame, Charlotte Motor Speedway U.S. National Whitewater Center, Bank of America Stadium home to NFL Carolina Panthers Football Team and Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden are all just a 30-minute drive away.
Of course, if you’d rather stay on the property and enjoy a truly relaxing vacation, there’s no shame in choosing never to leave the hotel. The Luxury Collection resort is a gem in the Queen City that has been graciously serving guests since 2001.
