If you’re looking for the perfect place to take your date for a nightcap, check out The Punch Room at The Ritz-Carlton, Charlotte. Replacing Urban Sip, the new bar opened on Valentine’s Day, a suitable date as its dark atmosphere is intended to be heady and imitate. Only allowing 37 guests at a time, The Punch Room is outfitted in plush lounges and sofas, chandeliers, gold and black design accents, and is styled after the “sometimes notorious beverage dens of yesteryear.” Sip on libations while listening to blues, soul and doo wop.
While the lounge offers traditional wines and spirits, they also prepare specialty drinks designed by the in-house, award-winning mixologist. There is a large selection of hard punches at the appropriately-named Punch Room, as well as infused drinks and hand-crafted cocktails. An actual punch bar, tableside services and on-site “cocktail carbonator” gives guests a unique twist on the traditional bar experience. In addition to spirits, small plates including charcuterie, oysters, cheeses and foie gras are also served.
The Punch Room will be open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5:00 to 11:00 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays from 6:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
