The Ritz-Carlton, Charlotte opened a new dining and drinking venue last weekend with the debut of Bar Cocoa. The bar is a restaurant and retail space featuring all shapes and forms of chocolate. All-day dining, daily chocolate teas, and a five-course dessert menu are just a few of Bar Cocoa’s offerings.
Welcoming diners to the chocolatier is Madam Cocoa, a life-size sculpture made entirely out of chocolate. Standing short of runway standards at 5’8”, Madam Cocoa is 75 pounds of real chocolate, and was created by pastry chef de partie Joshua Cain of The Ritz-Carlton, Charlotte. It took 95 hours to put this sugar mama together, and she is now on display in the water feature in the hotel’s Lobby.
Bar Cocoa is open to hotel guests and the public until 10 p.m. weekdays and 11 p.m. on weekends, and to celebrate the opening of this new eatery, The Ritz-Carlton, Charlotte is offering the new Cocoa Rehab package. This sweet escape includes a Saturday night in a Parlor Suite, the five-course Champagne and Chocolate dessert dinner, and a honey detox with chocolate truffle signature body treatment and massage at their Spa and Wellness Center.
