Charlotte Hotels: The The Ritz-Carlton, Charlotte has been awarded Five Diamonds from AAA after less than a year of operation.
The 146-room hotel, which is also the first LEED®-certified hotel for greater Charlotte and for The Ritz-Carlton brand, opened in October 2009 and was granted the prestigious AAA award in near-record time, both for North Carolina and for the hotel industry. Five Diamond designation was awarded to The Ritz-Carlton, Charlotte following multiple anonymous AAA inspections conducted throughout spring 2010.
The Five Diamond Award® is AAA’s most exclusive recognition and is reserved for properties which exemplify the highest level of excellence in every facet of operation. Less than a third of one percent of the 60,000 hospitality properties evaluated annually by AAA receive Five Diamond designation.
