It’s always wonderful to find a pet friendly hotel that doesn’t require you to leave your best friend at home, but it’s a rare find to locate a property that actually rolls out the red carpet to welcome four-legged guests.
That’s just what the folks at Archer Hotel Burlington do when they hear your best friend is in tow.
There’s nothing like planning a night or weekend getaway and it’s even better when the staycation property is just a short drive from your house. On a recent stay at Archer Hotel Burlington, we planned a quick one-night visit along with our English bulldog, Gertrude.
Located just 12 miles northwest of Boston, the luxury boutique hotel is now celebrating its fifth year at the 3rd Avenue lifestyle development. There are 147 guest rooms and suites found throughout the four-story building. Luxury amenities include everything from Frette bathrobes, Malin+Goetz bath amenities, and Frette slippers that guests can take home as a keepsake.
The interior of the hotel boasts lofted, floating wood ceilings, exposed brick, and steel-wrapped concrete columns for an elegantly industrial design.
Friendly front desk attendants literally welcomed Gertie with open arms and treats and they were given wet kisses in return.
We stayed in the Archer’s Den with Balcony Suite. The gorgeous sanctuary featured a spacious living area with a comfortable couch and large flat screen TV. From here, there is access to a private balcony complete with red Adirondack rockers, the perfect spot to enjoy morning coffee. The walk-in shower was enormous and provided easy entry. Our king bedroom was extremely comfortable and featured another oversized flat screen TV.
Amenities for our four-legged friend here were over the top. An adorable “High Paws All Around” desk sign made us smile. Gertie enjoyed frolicking on the dog bed made available during her stay, playing with her lobster chew toy, wearing a shark bandana, enjoying gourmet treats from Buddy Biscuits, using the cleanup bags, and eating from the elevated water and food bowl conveniently placed in a stand so it doesn’t move around on the floor.
They even have a “Dog in Room” card to be placed outside the suite that says your four-legged friend is “dreaming of Buddy Biscuits and tennis balls.” (In keeping with the pet friendly flair, double king guest rooms also feature artwork with Boston terriers on skateboards).
The suite also featured a fully stocked wet bar/kitchenette with refrigerator, sink, microwave, silverware, plates, and glasses. There was even a Nespresso coffee station here so you can brew a fresh cup morning, afternoon, or evening.
Although we did not dine here, the hotel does have an on-site hotel, AKB, open for breakfast, happy hour, and dinner.
The hotel recently added an additional corridor gallery digital photo series Golden Strong, by Kylie Cooper, a 2023 golden retriever gathering in support of canine cancer research — honoring Spencer, the official dog of the Boston Marathon as documented by Talya Minsberg in The New York Times.
Archer Hotel Burlington is located at 18 Third Avenue in Burlington, Mass.
