Now that summer is officially upon us, there is no better time to plan a much-needed getaway. If you don’t want to go too far, staycations just might be the best alternative to sneak in a small weekend escape.
We recently found a great spot that offers not only the perfect spot to relax and unwind but is also filled with fun things to do and great restaurants.
If you haven’t been recently to Patriot Place in Foxboro, Mass., consider this your formal introduction.
Centrally located between Boston and Providence, the property boasts more than 1.3 million square feet of shopping, dining, and entertainment. From sporting goods stores and health and beauty shops to men’s, women’s and children’s apparel and beauty salons, there is something here for every member of the family.
When it comes to staycations, there is no better way to play tourist than in your own home state. Whether you need some pampering or are just looking for adventure, booking a staycation is one of the best ways to immerse yourself in a local spot like an out-of-town tourist.
Overlooking Gillette Stadium, Hilton Garden Inn Foxboro at Patriot Place offers everything you need for a perfect getaway. The pet-friendly property is the smaller of two hotels located at Patriot Place. (A nearby nature trail surrounded by a cranberry bog makes for a fun walk with your four-legged companion).
The 136-room property features an indoor pool, fully equipped fitness room complete with a Peloton exercise bike and 3,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
Be sure to request a room with stadium view for the ultimate football fan experience. King bedrooms or stylish rooms with two queen beds overlook the stadium where our beloved home football team the New England Patriots play.
During the summer months, Gillette Stadium hosts some of the most popular names in music for sold-out concerts (think Luke Combs and Beyonce this summer) as well as other sporting events, including a few New England Revolution games. This winter, keep an eye out for the highly anticipated Army vs. Navy game being held here on December 9.
When it comes to entertainment, Patriot Place is not remiss for things to do. From shopping at New England’s first Bass Pro Shops to catching the latest movie at the 14-screen Showcase Cinema De Luxe, there are so many things to do here.
Football fans will want to check out the award-winning Patriots Hall of Fame while families can enjoy some fun time at Splitsville Luxury Lanes, a retro-style bowling alley. For live entertainment, head over to Howl at the Moon or try your hand at Topgolf Swing Suites.
If you have a sweet tooth, you won’t want to miss IT’SUGAR that features everything from chocolate indulgences to retro candies, lollipops and gummy bears. It truly is an experience to visit this shop that will surely leave you with a sweet smile on your face.
When it comes to dining options, a plethora of restaurants awaits. There are 24 eateries to choose from that range from casual to high-end and include a steakhouse, brewery, country music restaurant, familiar chains, pizza parlors, a new barbecue spot and Mexican restaurants.
We recommend checking out Twenty8 Food & Spirits located at the nearby Renaissance Boston Patriot Place Hotel just steps from the Hilton Garden Inn Foxboro at Patriot Place. For dinner, start off with the flavorful lamb Kafta skewers served with soft pita bread. The signature spicy shellfish capellini loaded with fresh shrimp, enormous scallops, and sweet lobster served with tangy cherry tomatoes in a tasty lemon basil broth was a standout.
Breakfast at The Garden Grille features cooked-to-order morning starters (think omelets, Greek yogurt, muffins, eggs cooked your way, French toast, pancakes, and waffles. Before checking out, you can work off those extra calories in the fitness center.
Be sure to keep an eye out for the opening of Freedom Wind Tunnel, an indoor skydiving spot opening up at Patriot Place later this summer.
Hilton Garden Inn Foxboro at Patriot Place is located at 27 Patriot Place in Foxboro, MA.
