Don’t you just love it when you discover a hidden gem of a restaurant? If you haven’t yet discovered Justine’s Table in Wellesley, you are in for a special treat with this rare find. Located on Route 9, the restaurant features a good selection of seafood and beef dishes (think pan-seared scallops and a boneless rib eye) complemented by a hearty listing of pastas like shrimp and scallop a la vodka. The restaurant was named as a tribute to a courageous, caring nun and family friend who saved lives of many soldiers during the First World War. To carry on that military tradition, a portion of the restaurant’s proceeds will be donated to veteran’s groups and military causes.
We love the supper club atmosphere of this BYOB restaurant. From the deep rich mahogany bar and the beautifully sleek baby grand piano to the upscale seating and cozy fireplace, the restaurant is as comfortable as the food is memorable. We started off with a sampling of the fresh jumbo shrimp cocktail served with a tasty cognac cocktail sauce. The gourmet mushroom sauté should not be missed, filled with an assortment of mushrooms and sautéed in flavorful brandy butter with garlic and shallots.
From there, we moved onto the seafood linguine, a massive portion of scallops, shrimp, lobster, mussels and clams in a nice light white clam sauce served over pasta. The Black Angus New York sirloin strip was cooked to a medium rare perfection, complemented by a side of gorgonzola mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach. If you can save room for dessert, the key lime pie with fresh limes, mangoes, apples and pears should not be missed. Justine’s Table is located at 978 Worcester Street in Wellesley.
