Boston sports stars, Gillette Stadium and a benefit to beat cancer. What more do we need to say to entice you to come out to the fifth annual New England Celebrities Tackle Cancer Gala, hosted by the Joe Andruzzi Foundation on December 3 at Gillette Stadium?
The star-studded event will be packed with local celebrities and current and former Patriots players. As you may know, Andruzzi is a former Patriots three-time Super Bowl champion, who is now celebrating five years of being cancer-free. All proceeds raised through the event will go toward helping the Foundation provide more cancer patients with financial assistance, as well as supporting pediatric brain cancer research.
The evening will feature a special symposium, cocktail hour, dinner, and speaking program, along with live and silent auctions offering sports memorabilia, Boston sports tickets, and luxury dining, spa, entertainment and travel packages.
Since its inception in 2008, the Joe Andruzzi Foundation has provided grants to more than 300 cancer patients and families, assisting with rent, mortgage and utility payments so caregivers and patients can remain focused on treatment. It has also donated more than $300,000 to Dr. Mark Kieran, at Boston Children’s Hospital, to help fund pediatric brain cancer research. The Foundation also sponsors upbeat outings for patients and families, and Andruzzi is a regular visitor at Boston Children’s Hospital and other cancer facilities.
