There are beautiful houses and then there are Design Homes. Introducing the 2012 Design Home project in Norwell, Massachussetts brought to you by Eugene Mattie Associates, Ronald McDonald House Charities and Boston Magazine. For a $25 donation to benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities, you now have the exclusive opportunity to tour this custom designed luxury home that features everything from a chef’s kitchen, separate pantry, 5.5 bathrooms, four bedrooms, a spectacular, circular main staircase and a putting green in the basement.
The Greek revival architectural style home, which is located at 4 Cowings Cove in Norwell, is open now through November 12. On select days throughout the tour period, they will be hosting a speaker series seminar where you can learn about green product trends, how to bring your vision to life and how to design your home to entertain. Inside this gorgeous home you will find a combination of oversized and palladium-style windows and glass-paned doors that allow natural light to penetrate every room, along with both screened-in and open-air porches to offer full views of sunrise and sunset.
As you walk through the home, you will learn about the many local companies that helped contribute to its nearly year-long construction. Eugene Mattie worked with local chef, Paul Wahlberg, to create a true chef’s kitchen. The result? A masterpiece. Think butcher block tabletop, antique green cabinetry, a separate “kid’s kitchen” complete with its own refrigerator and freezer drawers and adjacent sitting area with gas fireplace. This is one tour you won’t want to miss.
