If you’re looking to experience some fun nightlife this weekend then be sure to head over to the newly opened Descent lounge located in a subterranean space at the W Boston. Descent’s funky interior was designed to pay homage to the city’s former “Red Light District” with its unique look, feel, sound and design.
Enter from the main level of the W Boston with its bright red chandelier and you will literally descend into the underground, bright red space complete with electric lighting. There is a large black chalkboard wall reminiscent of graffiti artists from the Red Light District making their mark on the metropolitan exteriors. Twenty-somethings will love the celebrity DJs brought in each week from around the world spinning their favorite tunes in a red glass-encased DJ booth.
The nightclub, which is open five nights a week (Wednesday thru Sunday) from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m., has a fun Red Light District cocktail program created by Charlotte Voisey, who has been recognized by the James Beard Foundation, featured on Top Chef Masters and Next Iron Chef America, and was named the 2004 UK Bartender of the Year.
If you come with a group, be sure to request a reservation in one of the highly coveted low tables in the back complete with pewter banquettes.
Descent is located at 100 Stuart Street in Boston. . For more information visit DescentWBoston.com, or call (617) 310-6742.
